Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins, an American-Mexican sportscaster. She works as an ESPN news anchor and hosts SportsNation often. She started working for ESPN in the year 2016. She is the daughter of the reporter for television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is bilingual since the age of nine years old. It was a helpful ability that allowed her to secure her first job working as an assistant to the producer with Univision in Miami that provided her with the opportunity to be a part of the production team for national programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. Her first job was as a reporter for The CBS St. Petersburg affiliate in the following year. In 2009 she moved to Rio Grande Valley, Texas to become a news reporter for the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. In 2009, she relocated to Rio Grande Valley in Texas and became an editor for KNVO48 Univision as well as Fox2 News. Also, she was often requested to serve as an anchor for weather and sports. Later, she was anchor and reporter on Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was given more responsibilities. She wrote pieces to sports like the NBA, Dallas Cowboys' postseason games, NBA ALDS ALCS World Series or Finals FC Dallas. Besides this, she produced Univision 23's local sports show Accion Deportiva Extra on which she served as the anchor herself. She was hired as anchor of the sports program for Despierta America Deportes for their morning program. In the same role as the show's magazine Primer Impacto and for UniMas Network's Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins' grandparents were born in Veracruz Mexico. In Mexico City she was conceived on the 22nd November 1985. She is the elder sibling of her parents. She is the older sister. They divorced shortly thereafter in 1995. Her mother remarried an architect from the naval profession known as Fabio Fajardo who passed away from kidney cancer in 2006. On a trip, Antonietta stayed at the house of her sister Canton Ohio. Her older Collins sibling had recently gotten the job of his dreams. Antonietta was a senior in high school, yet she knew exactly what career path she was looking for. When she was deciding whether Mount Union is the right choice for her Antonietta went to visit the school. It turned out that she liked the campus and that the school provided the degree she was looking for. After graduation, she went to the university as an undergraduate major in media studies. Professor Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM, and was student in the class, established an ongoing friendship with her. The professor encouraged her to believe in herself and was deeply touched by his enthusiasm for journalism.
